Japanese Delegation led by Mayor of Matsue visit the gardens

The Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens Tramore were delighted to welcome from Japan, the Mayor of Matsue, Masataka Matsuura and Matsue City Council Chairman, Katsutaro Yamamoto along with delegates, Satomi Miyazako, Masaki Fujihara and Tomoo Arima (21st August 2016).

The delegation was greeted by Councillor Eddie Mulligan on behalf of the Mayor of Waterford, along with members of Tramore Development Trust.

Photographs show: the Ceremony in the gardens, where the bust of Lafcadio Hearn (presented by the City of Matsue) was placed in it’s new resting place in the Zen Garden and the exchange of gifts between Matsue City, Waterford City and Tramore.

On Sunday, August 21st, a high level Japanese delegation visited Lafcadio Hearn Japanese gardens in Tramore.
